Very nice filet here. Recommend it medium rare. Has a nice garlic butter on top with a burgundy mushroom sauce on the side. Very glad it's on the side as the steak is great without it. Swapped the potatoes out for the mixed veggies. Highly recommend the veggies. The veggies, however, are very good with the mushroom sauce. Throw in a sexy Syrah and you have quite a meal. I would have taken a photo but it was gone too quick. ;-) Bon appetit!

Other reviews prepared me to remain flexible....good thing! Tried to reseat us...three large gentlemen ....at a Ladies Tea Table....took some maneuvering thru layers of T-shirted 'management' before they relented. Cheese Dip as advertised. Burger accoutrements tasty....175 degree half pound burger in the middle was like Enchanted Rock in Texas but without the pink.....impervious to squishing into submission. Waitress peppy, or was it 'pepped'? Art on walls of a "Why did I never get better after Sophomore Year?" aspect. No IPA on tap. Sounds more like Two Stars.....but that Cheese Dip is REALLY good.

I have NEVER had a bad meal or a bad time here. Great menu- great drinks. LOVE the atmosphere. It's my favorite place to eat in Little Rock.

Great service!! Great food!! Just found my favorite dish, The duke's mafia ham dip! Definitely will come back more often!! Love the atmosphere!

Eclectic and charming are two words to describe this place, not to mention our server/bartender was a fine looking fella. ;) The chandeliers were gorgeous! Definitely gave off that gypsy feel with it's deep dark tones and the lighting. There were a few photo ops just inside the door in the bar area. The bar area itself was up and hopping in no time. So glad we arrived early! My 3 girlfriends and I found this place on yelp while in town for the Little Rock marathon weekend. We wanted to have some drinks early, dinner and appetizers while catching up. Perfect place! We arrived early in the evening and were able to sit right away. Our handsome server suggested a bottle rather than separate glasses which turned out to be a great plan. We ended up buying two bottles. The appetizers were yummy and allowed for us ladies to enjoy some delicious cuisine while enjoying our wine. The Nachos were phenomenal! We really didn't need dinner, but we did all order. The food wad decent, but most impressionable was the atmosphere and charming service.

Two words....cheese dip! The Tommy Knocker creme sodas are wonderful, both strawberry and almond. Atmosphere is cool. Pretty much everything on the menu sounds delicious. I had one of the dip sandwiches with roasted beef and sauteed mushrooms. It came with Alfredo dipping sauce but I substituted the four cheese. I dipped my fries it it because the sandwich didn't need it. It was all delicious. The bottom of my bread was a little soggy but still tasted good. My friend had a truffle ravioli, which she loved

We had a fantastic experience! The cheese dip was delicious and the muy caliente faralle was the best pasta dish I've had in ages! A fantastic ambiance and highly recommended!

Okay, deep breath...I am finally ready to write this review. I came here for lunch with three of my friends on Thursday, July 30 of this year. The point was to have a nice lunch and drinks with some of my friends. July 30 is a special date for me. It was my wedding anniversary, my husband passed away a year and a half ago. I picked Dizzy's because they have wedding cake on their menu. My best friend had brought me here the year before, when I was only 6 months out from my husband's passing and I remembered how special it was to me that they had wedding cake on their menu. Skip ahead to this year. My friends and I show up around 1pm, the restaurant is almost empty, which I thought was a good sign (I thought we had missed the lunch rush). NOT. There was nothing about the staff at Dizzy's that ever implied that they rush, or promptly respond. So we are seated and then left to wait. No one comes to take our drink order, nothing. So we wait. Finally, our waitress comes and we place a drink order from their cocktail menu, but are told that they do not have a bartender and that they will do "their best". With hope in our hearts, we agree to this arrangement. Some time passes and our drinks are brought...I can't speak for my friends, but my drink wasn't bad. I ordered a Moscow Mule, so really I am not sure how someone could mess that up too badly. Eventually, we place our lunch order. Half-way through our meal, our waitress informs us that she is leaving but that another waiter will take over, um okay? I guess this happens? But, why not just NOT take our table? Just give it to one of the wait staff who WILL be staying? Our food was "meh". I had a shrimp salad that was overpriced along with a cup of soup that was equally overpriced. The soup was lukewarm and oddly lumpy, it was supposed to be a tomato cream type soup. The lumps were alarming, so I only ate a couple of bites. The shrimp on my salad were slimy and tough. Thus, I ate only a small amount of my lunch. The new waiter comes back and asks us if we would like any dessert. I suppose I took him by surprise when I said yes, I would like the wedding cake, because I was promptly informed that they were out. Sigh. The entire reason for coming to this stupidly overpriced place where mediocre comes to die was the wedding cake. Great. So, after much thought, it's pretty sad when your restaurant's saving grace is wedding cake. Bottom line, if you don't actually sell an item anymore, take it off your menu. Rules I think you should follow when you work in the food industry: 1. Don't serve me something as silly as limp salad out of a bag and some poorly cooked shrimp only to charge me $18 for it...lame. 2. Be mindful of how old your soup is...if it is lumpy and the temperature is questionable, don't freaken' serve it. 3. Don't bring out a cocktail menu unless you have someone to mix the drinks. Lesson here, if you do have someone to mix the drinks, we the customers would never know that a "bartender" didn't make them, just leave that information out (it taints the experience). 4. Seriously, and I can't stress this enough, if you wouldn't eat it, then don't serve it. All around our time at Dizzy's was really just weird. The service was apathetic, the food was meh, and it was expensive. Basically, I brought my business to Dizzy's on a day that is very special to me and I guess that was my mistake.

Pretty good. Service was ok, but it was busy. Just means they work harder, smile longer. Cheese dip was the best I ate. I had a salad, the vinaigrette is stout so use it sparingly. I also had a cheese ravioli, good but not excellent. The atmosphere is the best thing this place has going for them in my opinion. Fun but pricey for lack of taste.

Yelp helpers did not lie-this place was amazing! Get here early for a seat (it's hopping thanks to live music). Laid back atmosphere-very friendly wait staff and host. The cheese dip was probably the best I've ever had..which is saying a lot bc I'm from Texas and I was raised on the stuff. The Reuben was excellent, and the wedding cake was delicious...no more waiting through a bunch of toast to get to the best part of most weddings. Go here!

This place is too overpriced and pretentious. The service was great, but the food was over promised and under delivered. Probably the worst dining experience I've ever had. The belly dancers were also very distracting.

Ordered truffle tortellini very heavy sauce with no distinct taste of truffle oil. Disappointing meal.

I have never walked out of a restaurant due to prices in my life...until today. $12.99 for a bowl of tomato soup. $8.99 for an order of fries. $10.00 for HALF of a salad.this is Little Rock not London, NYC or San Fran. Walk down the street a block for a plethora of good food, priced right.

The wedding cake was awesome! Chicken noodle soup was great, the grilled chicken was superb and I'm a chicken snob! The queso and spinach artichoke dip were both great. Nice surprise

This place is a breath of fresh air. I'm in Little Rock pretty often for business, and I just happened upon Dizzy's while walking to the River Market. I'm so glad I did. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a long day. I was so grateful for Beth. She took care of me, and not once did I feel like she was rushing me. She knows the menu and made some fantastic recommendations - the salmon salad, is a "wow factor". Her awesome attitude, the delicious food, and relaxing atmosphere will have me coming back on future trips to Little Rock. You won't be disappointed for dining with Dizzy!

I stumbled on this place while visiting downtown Little Rock visiting the various bars and restaurants on Markham Street. As I was leaving Markham street looking for a place to eat, I found this restaurant behind Markham on Commerce street. I must say that when I first arrived here and walking up to the front door, it gave me the New Orleans bayou restaurant feel. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and has an outside patio with long draped curtains and a nice comfortable sitting area. My complaints are purely based on service because the food was actually great. I've never been to a restaurant where the greeter/host doesn't walk you to your seat. When I arrived the hostess just pointed me to my seat and said she would send the menus over. First strike. It took them quite a while to figure out who my waiter/waitress would be so in turn, it took quite a while for us to get our drinks and order. Second Strike. They have a full bar so how in the world did they not have my favorite drink Grand Marnier?? Come on now lol. Third strike. As for the food, it was actually great. I had the Tuxedo which was a bowtie (farfelle) pasta dish with finely cut chicken breast seasoned well with alfredo sauce. The 4th strike came in because I specifically asked the waiter to hold the black olives. What did I see when my entree was brought to my table? You guessed it, black olives. I also tried a California beer called Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I wasn't too impressed because of its strong and long lasting after taste but I wont hold that against the restaurant itself. All in all, had the service been better I would have given this place 4-stars easily but because of the service I would say that it was just ok.

This is my third trip here - both times prior I was impressed. This time not so much - the staff is very friendly to the regulars but a little slow to those they don't know. I had the ravioli which was salty and tasteless. The salad was a few pieces of spinach w a good tasting house made dressing. It still gets 3 stars because of prior good meals and it's a very cool place w local art displayed on walls. I will come again with hopes of a better meal.

Fabulous! I am very skeptical on having a steak at any place, but the filet here is phenomenal! The service was tremendous! Chloe was our waitress and she did an incredible job! Highly recommend!

Art decor in there walls are amazing! Food comes in big portion so I ordered from kids which they didn't mind.

  • Felix S.

The food here is really good. The burgers and cheese dip are great. Most of the stars that are given here are for the food though. The times that I have been here the service has been less than average. My coworkers and I came for a work lunch to celebrate a birthday and it took over an hour to get our meal. I am not one to discount a restaurant based on one bad service. There have been several occasions when the wait staff have ignored our table or have been almost rude. I love to support my Little Rock restaurants but I always hope they read these reviews and strive to be better.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Little Rock Arkansas. I wish I could stay long enough to try everything on the menu. The service is friendly and quick, the portions are big, they carry an excellent selection of wine, signature cocktails are interestingly mixed and the prices are extremely reasonable. It's amazing the quality of their food. I'm Italian and hesitant to eat pasta dishes at a restaurant. Their Pasta is phenomenal, fresh ingredients quality meat and perfectly balanced seasoning and sauce. I recommend: "Pamela's Truffle Ravioli" "The Vientiane Librarian's Angel Hair" "Spinach salad" with their house dressing "Soup" "Soup" and more "Soup"! The decor is fantastic. Very eclectic mix of artwork covering the walls, glass chandeliers and a mixture of different textiles covering each chair. Very cool place!

Food was very good! Truffle ravioli was fabulous. Patio was quaint and refreshing. Service was just right--checked in but did not hurry the meal at all. I will be back on my next visit to Little Rock.

I had a great group dinner here. They were very accomodating, splitting checks and getting food out fast even though we had a table of about 10 people. I split the spinach and artichoke dip with some friends to start - it was creamy and came in a HUGE bowl with lots of chips. It could have easily been split with the whole table. I got the raw plate plus protein salad. It was huge and full of veggies which was great after a few days of eating heavy. I particularly liked the pesto on top. For dessert I shared the big house brownie which was a let down. It was nothing special. Overall though I liked the funky hip atmosphere and huge menu, I would definitely go back!

What a charming, New Orleans jazz-themed place. After a rough, post-wedding morning, we dragged ourselves here and promptly ordered 3 different soups to warm us up on a rainy/chilly October morning. WOW!!! I can only imagine this is what Seinfeld meant when he talked about the Soup Nazi's soups as each one was amazing in it's own right (cream of mushroom, black bean chicken and tomato/basil). While I sampled each one, my black bean chicken soup to me was the best...HUGE chunks of sliced chicken, perfectly seasoned with a slight amount of heat. In addition, the staff couldn't possibly have been nicer or more attentive. We were severely hungover from the open bar the night before and both Gideon and another server kept our waters and other beverages full at all times. You could tell that not only did the staff enjoy working with one another but they clearly took pride in their restaurant...you can't teach or train that. Run don't walk and get over to Dizzy's!

Good food, horribly slow service. We started with the cheese dip and the salsa and both had wonderful flavor. Different than a standard cheese dip, a lot more depth of flavor. The group had a bunch of different main courses. Everything from a creole dish to basic filet to chicken. They were pretty good, not great but certainly good. The restaurant was pretty noisy and it was at times hard to have a conversation at the table. The service would likely keep me from coming back here again.

I always think that Dizzy's sounds like a good idea at the time it's mentioned, but then when I arrive it just has no appeal. Let me clarify, it's not the food by any means, no-no! The food is quite good. It's not even the service, no-no! Even on a busy night your server is pretty good at juggling those tables. So, what is it? For me it's the decor and the ambiance. I just can't get behind it. Cluttered with no theme just doesn't do it for me. Sadly, it takes my dining experience down a notch or two. But the food, ahhhh the food, the last few times I've dined at Dizzy's I've ordered The Venetian Librarian's Angel Hair, and it has not disappointed me at all. The cream sauce has been just right and the flavors were balanced all the way down to the saltiness of the capers. All in all, it's a good place to dine, and the service is right. I'm sure I'll venture back to try another dish. (We don't want to be stuck in a rut now do we?) I'm sure for me the appeal will disappear once I'm in the restaurant, but I know once I'm seated the food will draw me in like it does every time.

In town for one night on the way to Dallas and looking for a decent meal - should have trusted my instincts in the first place - don't ever eat at a place with Dizzys or Gypsy in the name. We came in and looked around and I said no, we should not eat here and told my dinner party why (don't eat at a place with ....), but then after walking around downtown LR we ended up back at DGB and what a mistake! We ate outside on the patio, and that wasn't too bad even though it was raining. The server was perfunctory and served his purpose - not too helpful, but not over the top either. The food was the most dreadful part of the whole experience. For example, I ordered the Burgundy Stroganoff and fully expected the noodles with beef, but got this god-awful orange looking concoction (paprika mushroom cream sauce supposedly) that was terrible! My dinner mates laughed at me and said that I should never order Stroganoff, but I've had it numerous places and it's been delightful - this should never have been served. Although I can't remember exactly what my friends had (I'm thankful for a short memory on this occasion), they didn't exactly rave about theirs. I won't be returning to DGB and won't recommend it to anyone else either!

Went for lunch, had great service. The tomato mozzarella sandwich was very good, because of the pesto. But was extremely messy, too much sauce so too oily. Others liked the sandwiches they had and love the patio. Very limited vegetarian menu. But would go try again.

While exploring the river walk area, we found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a friendly bartender who chatted with us about our travels and provided great service. We shared the le petite Roche cheese dip (amped up queso with crunchy tortilla chips - definitely big enough to share as an appetizer) and split the saffron creole. The creole was creamy and spiced well. It came with shrimp, crawfish, and chicken over fluffy rice. The portion was quite large so I'm glad we split the meal. I only wish we had been in town longer to try more of their menu.

I've eaten at this place twice separated by a year when I found myself in Little Rock. Due to yelp, I rarely have a bad meal on the road and Dizzy's was no exception. This time I went with several locals who had never been to Dizzy's and every meal was good. Since I like spice, I have a preference for the the Arkansas Saffron Creole. And don't miss the cheese dip. If I was to eat here again, I'd probably try to get some of that cheese dip on a burger. Ermahgerd!

Cool venue in downtown Little Rock. I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was a nice evening and I sat outside. The local "Rocktoberfest" beer was pretty decent. I had some pasta (huge portion), which was pretty good and it came with a salad. The truffle vinaigrette was a little strong, but not terrible. Highlight of meal: white wedding cake for dessert. To have this without having to attend an actual wedding!??! Right up my alley.

Wanted to eat here--But the restaurant was apparently so short staffed that it only had 2 waiters. My daughter and I waited for more than 12 minutes without a server, and when he did arrive he was curt and unfriendly. We left and chose not to order from such rude people! Several other customers left without ordering.

Dizzy 's is such a wonderful place! The decor is very unique. The restaurant is clean and the staff is always very friendly. Some nights they will have live acoustic music. If it's a nice day the patio is delightful! I recommend the ham bake or any sandwich on the menu. Don't leave without trying the wedding cake.

Such a nice surprise of a place to be a minute walk from our hotel! It was so very cute and the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. My husband and we had their salad and were very impressed. I also liked that they had a really nice red wine selection at reasonable prices. I will definitely recommend to others and return if im in the area again.

We stayed across the street so this was the most convenient place to eat. The first day we went we waited over an hour for our food and watched as other people got their food before us (more complicated meals than ours) that arrived after us. We, along with other patrons, were amazed by the lack of staff, lack of checking in with tables, and carefree attitude in the place. When the food finally arrived it was good! Yesterday we went again. This time the server was very confused when i simply asked him to add ham to my grilled cheese so he questioned me multiple times. He then told me that I "was ordering a whole lot of food" when i added a salad to my order. He also made a snide comment to my friend when she said she didnt want another coke. I wish i could better tell you the tone, the looks and the mannerisms of this guy as he waited on us. So rude! The food on this day was just okay - the soup was way too watery. Bottom line: service is super slow, over priced, and some of the servers are too carefree and rude.

Great wine selection- they have different wines. Dave Matthews and the lead singer from the band train have wine sold there. We came in 20 minutes before close and they were warm and welcoming. We didnt get good but it all smelled great! I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are looking for a nice glass of wine in downtown Little Rock!

I never learn. Every time I go I hope it will be better and every time I am disappointed. I'm talking about the service, not the food. The food is actually very tasty. Big menu without being overwhelming. Consistently delivered. Burgers are massive and the pastas are well thought out and creative. All good things. However the service. Jesus. I've been away from Little Rock for a couple of years now but I come back to visit about once a year. Each and every time I end up at Dizzy's and will it to be different. Nope. Servers are not rude in a traditional sense but more apathetic and seemingly overwhelmed even if the restaurant is nearly vacant. Maybe it is a staffing issue.. I don't know.... I could bore you with my many experiences but instead I will just give advice. Order more than one drink at a time because getting a second drink will take you forever. Know all the extras you will need, napkins, condiments, extra plate etc. and ask for it when your server is delivering your food because you may never see them again. Be patient. The food is good, the decor is nice, and the prices are reasonable. You will leave a little exasperated but full.

What a great place! My wife ordered the Pamela's truffle ravioli and it was outstanding. I ordered the stroganoff and it was very good as well. For dessert we ordered their vanilla wedding cake and it was good. It did not change my life, but it was good. The atmosphere is very casual and service was excellent. Had the desert been as good as I expected to be it would have gotten five stars from me. I highly recommend this place.

Stopped into Dizzy's for lunch while on a first time trip to Little Rock after reading reviews. We sat right down, the place wasn't too crowded as it was 2 pm. The menu was huge and had a great selection to choose from. I got the mushroom soup which was good, but kinda cold. The turkey pesto sandwich was good, and the parmesan fries it came with were a nice touch. I got hot tea which was a lil expensive at $3, and my water glass was dirty. We go the wedding cake dessert to go (after reading recommendations about it), which was a huge tasty slice! I'm not sure I ordered completely right, but I'd give the place another try.

Eclectic decor. Love the Día de Muertos tree of life - read about this in the Arkansas Times. The food was delicious, large portions and mouth watering. The wedding cake was definitely worth the walk over. The brownie was bathed in chocolate heaven.

In town for business and my Indiana coworkers suggested it. The hotel staff had not heard of it but are aware now! Very quaint atmosphere indoors and out. I ended up being out on the patio on that beautiful night. Their dishes have some good combos to them and are very flavorful. I ended up with one of the ravioli choices which came with a salad. Very filling but of course I had been told I needed to try their desserts. I went with the rocky road cake. OMG! SO GOOD! It was a warm choc cake that tasted like it had cinnamon baked in to it, covered with a gooey warm marshmallow, choc, nut mix. Going for the dessert was worth it enough. It is set right downtown and is within walking distance to alot of things. Will definitely be going back next time I'm in town.

Decent service, forgettable and substandard food. We had salads, pasta, fish and steak. Two of our party of 4 got sick after eating here. Outrageously expensive for the quality of food you're getting. Steer clear. Try south on main, Natchez or cache.

Ate here last night on our way through to Texas. First time here and had good reviews so wanted to try it. Nice ambience. But disappointed. Server was very friendly but slow. Pasta was cold and flavorless and overpriced for what you get. Homemade dressing for salad was also not good. My son got a burger which he said was good but not exceptional. Would probably not come back here. It's too bad. We really wanted to like it.

Visited Little Rock for the first time and my wife and I chose this place to eat based on reviews and location to our hotel. Service was great. Food was amazing. As everyone says, the cheese dip really is great. I had a feta and pesto burger, which turned out to be one of the best burgers I've ever had...and I love a good burger. Very thick patty - not sure how they cooked it so perfectly. Will have to eat here again if I'm ever near Little Rock.

I've been to Dizzy's twice now. On the first trip, I was blown away by the cheese dip--expensive, but incredible. The second time, same price, but just so-so. There are a great deal of options on the menu, and both the salads and the pastas taste very fresh and very good. This place is relatively expensive, but the service is wonderful and the ambiance is cool/romantic at night. It's closed on Sunday and Monday--the Sunday decision is puzzling, given its downtown location. Oddity: A ridiculous number of their entrees feature olives. Just ask the server to leave them out =)

What a great find! Right across from the hotel I stayed at was this quaint place. It was convenient and so I thought I would try it. I ordered the mushroom soup and vegetarian fettuccine alfredo. The mushroom soup was incredible. It is home made, creamy, smooth and so very tasty. The fettucine was exceptional. Perfectly prepared with the home made alfredo sauce. Of course, it was way too much food for me so I boxed up most of the fettuccine and took it all the way back to Dallas with me and it was worth it because the next day, it was just as good. I am sure the other things are just as delish. I will definitely go back whenever I get back to Little Rock!

This place was a mess. There were four in our party and we all ordered a beverage and I ordered an iced tea. It never came. I ordered it again and again it never came. It was slow. I gave up on the drink and hoped the food would be good. My son ordered a cheeseburger that he took one bite of and decided the meat was inedible. It looked like gross mystery meat. I ordered a pesto turkey sandwich that was so bad that I took a few bites and gave up. My husband ordered a roast beef sandwich that he said had zero flavor. The food looked terrible and tasted worse. They sprinkle Parmesan cheese on everything which is just strange. Three out of four of us left most of our food on our plates and it was obvious our server was used to that happening because he said nothing. We won't be back. They need a manager who does something other than sit in the corner and smoke, and a cook that cares what the food tastes like. It was really bad. Even our tossed salads lacked any kind of imagination with two cherry tomatoes and more stale Parmesan sprinkled on top. The lettuce had some bad pieces that had turned orange. Gross.

This place is great. Met some old friends here for dinner. I think our waiter was "dizzy" on something. He was seldom to be seen but we were having good conversation so it wasn't that bad. Great salad and cheese dip. Good ravioli. I don't usually care for white cake but the Wedding cake was really good. Overall had a good time. Pricey but was a great spot for a slow dinner and to catch up with old friends. Might avoid if you are with the kids or in a hurry although our kids loved the pasta.

Ordered the filet (highly recommend) and had a salad to start. Atmosphere was awesome. Service was top notch and food was unbelievable. Provided, a filet is the perfect canvas to achieve something awesome with...I have seen plenty fail. The filet was perfectly cooked, the sauce was clearly made to order and the cheese brought it up another level. The grilled veggies were awesome and included: squash, zucchini, onions, olives and tomatoes. Highly recommend. Calie and the wait staff were solid beyond belief.

Dizzy's Gypsy Bistro has been on my list of places to try for a while now, but since I don't see it that often, I don't really think about it. We were heading out to Chenal on Saturday to see Titanic in 3D (my favorite movie of all time!) and since we were passing downtown Little Rock, we decided to stop by for an early dinner. We loved the place from the moment we stepped inside. The decor was fun & funky and we were absolutely in love with the light fixtures, but we loved the food more. The food was absolutely delicious. Arkansas is apparently the cheese dip capital of the world, and Dizzy's is known for their award winning dip. We started with an order of that, and my only complaint is the portion size. Since it was just the two of us at dinner, we were both full by the time we finished the dip. They offer half size portions of several of their entrees, and it would have been awesome to have been able to get this in a smaller portion. Logically, I know we could have stopped eating it, but it was way too good. This wasn't some soupy, Chili's-style queso. This was cheese dip. Each chip that came out of the bowl brought thick, gooey cheese with it. The addition of salsa, pico de gallo & sour cream made this even more perfect. Luckily, they did offer a smaller size portion of my dinner choice. This was excellent. It was stuffed with ricotta, topped with grilled chicken breast, artichoke hearts, black olives, marinara and alfredo sauce. At first appearance, I wasn't impressed. Then I took a bite. It was delicious, and once I broke through the top layer of marinara, all of the other stuff inside were like (very flavorful) little gifts. This came served with a side salad (the pepper-parmesan dressing was fantastic, by the way!), so I only managed to eat about a third of it (I wasn't kidding when I said the cheee dip filled us up) and the rest was delicious reheated for lunch the next afternoon. Graham's turkey sandwich with pesto, swiss & a garlic-basil mayo was equally delicious. Again, it was huge. And even my bottomless pit of a husband only finished half and when he ate the other half for lunch the next day, he instantly wanted more. I wasn't impressed with the fries. They weren't bad, just ordinary fries which needed more salt. Since we were on our way to a 3+ hour long movie, we bypassed the alcohol, although their drink list was very appealing. We'll have to try that out next time, because we will definitely be back. This place is definitely a new favorite of ours and we can't wait to head back.

Their cheese dip really is the best around! I loved their Reuben, too, and I consider myself a bit of a Reuben connoisseur. They have a cool, eclectic look to the restaurant, and interesting and tasty items.

Gypsy's was one of the hidden gems of Little Rock and I found it to be an outstanding find in the River Market area. Absolutely outstanding atmosphere and food. Plus unique, haven't been to too many places like this. Our entrance was similar to the experience that others had. We were greeted by a nervous teenager that seemed nervous, mumbled a lot and was obviously someones kid. From his gestures, grunts and squeaks, we figured we could sit anywhere we wanted on the outside porch. There were three of us and we sat at a larger table, he came up to us looking agitated and told us that the table has a 5 person minimum. So we got up and waited for a smaller table to be cleaned so we could settle in. Once we seated, a waitress promptly greeted us, gave us menus and took our drink orders. There is a wine menu which looks fairly acceptable. The main menu itself was made up of a interesting variety of dishes including pasta, seafood, steak, sandwiches and so on. I ordered a grilled buffalo mozzarella sandwich, my friends ordered a Tuxedo Pasta, a dish that featured marinara sauce on the outside of the bowl and Alfredo sauce in the middle, and a chef salad. The decor was really different and very nice, Turkish style lanterns which is supposed to give it a gypsy feel, purple drapery, artwork on the wall, all of which gave it a very nice warm feeling. Once the teenage spaz got lost, the service was very nice. My sandwich was excellent, mozzarella with tomato, fresh basil, red onion and a pesto mayonnaise grilled on a marble rye. I loved every bit of it. Sandwich came with a house salad and raspberry vinaigrette. Salad was good, vinaigrette dressing was a bit different as the balsamic vinegar stood out more than the raspberry. My companions pronounced their entrees as excellent. Dizzys passed one major test that makes it a five star. When we left, we were still talking about it and we are looking forward to the time we can return for another great meal at this restaurant.

Good service and a nice place. The food left a lot to be desired. Stroganoff should have some kind of flavor and this was the first time I'd had what appeared to be lunch meat in place of roast or steak. High prices and mediocre food mean I probably wouldn't go back.

Always good service and good food. The desserts are amazing! Pasta or salad for dinner & wedding cake for dessert. Can not be beat! Perfect place for a late night glass of wine and apps Carmen is awesome! So far so good. I have been pleased and more pleased with every meal here Three times in 24 hours. The pasta was great the service stellar. All the dressings are made fresh the Zilphia's salad was perfect. Yet another lunch here My quick tip pretty much summed it up. I like this place because of the food and servers.

Don't let the smoking patio outside disturb you...come on in and eat off the extensive menu - everything on the menu (almost) has a a story from this home spun menu and creative idea. A bit pricey, but worth the fresh food and great service- not to mention the decor in the restaurant. Authentic dishes like mine (Jorge's Muy Caliente ) put a spin on classics ... our server (male) was super pretentious for no reason, but out side of that I say A - OK! I had the Jorge's Muy Caliente Pasta - which was spicy and delish!

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in downtown LR. The cheese dip is AMAZING, and everything on the menu is delicious. This is not a health food destination, but the sandwiches, pasta, salads, soup, etc are great and indulgent. No draft beer, but plenty of bottled beer and wine options. A fun atmosphere and good service.

Cheese Dip: unbelieveable! The pasta, burgers, and salads are awesome, too. Oh, hell, it's all good- really good. If you don't believe me, get a look at the ever-present crowd. And the atmosphere- gloriously bad forgeries of famous paintings. Diabetic me cannot eat it, but everyone waves about the white wedding cake. A great place!

I have eaten in many different cities and their restaurants during the past 7 or so years because of my job and I can't remember a better meal I have had. I had to try the cheese dip due to the reviews and it was rather large just for me but it was great. The salad was nice, but the mustard vinaigrette was the best dressing I probably have ever had. I was disappointed to read they make it themselves or I would have bought some and shipped it home. I go the no carb burger....I must have not read the ingredients fully, because it was packed with olives and some artichokes which I don't like either. Whatever they did, they olives weren't over powering and provided a nice flavor along with the artichokes, roasted red peppers, green peppers and onion. The burger was cooked perfectly, meat was tender and tasty. Overall an amazing dinner. The staff was attentive and friendly, only minus I would say was that I ordered a glass of wine and never got it... This was my first time in Little Rock....I may just come back here for this food.

Some of the most unhealthy, yet unbelievably delicious food in Little Rock! I first tried Dizzy's years ago at their previous Benton location. The potato soup was, and still is, extremely, sinfully wonderful. Pretty sure the base is straight cream. My friend ordered the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer- also the best I have eaten to date. It is made with a cream cheese base, so how could you go wrong? I have tried both the Callie's Chicken Salad sandwich, as well as the The Duke's Mafia Ham Dip - both were really good. I tend to like chicken dishes better, and loved their chicken salad! Fresh and delicious. The atmosphere and vibe at Dizzy's are also just ... cool. The service was good, the patio is great for dining on those beautiful spring and fall nights - just gives off a great vibe. Give Dizzy's a try - you won't be disappointed.

I was contacted by someone affiliated with this restaurant via my personal facebook account after my negative comment. I was informed that I was a petty, fat, unintelligent bitch that lacked all social grace as well as that I should "lay off of the cheese dip." So much for constructive criticism and professionalism.

Good for groups. I went with a group of Soccer Kids and family members. We had called ahead for reservations and they had us set up and ready on arrival. Service was good considering the size of the group and the constant demands that kids can make for more drink. The sauces are a bit on the heavy side, so you may want to ask for "light" sauce or sauce on the side.

Arrived for lunch around 12:45 on a Wednesday. My female guest and I entered the gaudy purple and gold restaurant and a young guy stood awkwardly in the entrance-way to greet us. He looks like he is about 17 years old and his eyes lock directly on the low-cut cleavage of my companion. A very awkward two seconds go by until he tears his gaze away to look at me - I have an amused look on my face, he looks terrified. He stumbles through asking us how many there are in our party, I hold up two fingers. He says we can sit anywhere, we find a place in the middle of the large dining room. The restaurant is 1/3 full. 17 year-old seats us and hands us our menus, he then asks us what we would like to drink. Is he our host or server? I ask what type of beers they have on tap. He responds "Beer on tap...I don't know if we have beer on tap, I'm not sure." Okay... He wanders off and returns with a drink menu. I choose a beer, he looks at me awkwardly and says "Oh, you'll have to have your server bring it to you." Okay... 11 minutes pass. The dining room empties somewhat, FIVE servers buzz around the room. No one approaches our table. I haven't even been able to get my damn beer. Finally, Dopey skateboarder-looking guy comes over and asks what we went. He sports a knock-off Affliction shirt and his jeans are dirty. We order. The salad and pita sandwich the young lady got were fine, prepared reasonably. My roast beef sandwich was a soggy, overcooked mess. Sloppily slapped on a plate with a glob of sauce. The fries were frozen crinkle-fries that had not been tossed with the promised seasonings, but instead had a small pile of shredded parm dumped on top of them. Won't be back.

What a joke! The claim to make everything "fresh" to order. Ina actuality the fries are frozen and Kraft Parmesan are as fresh as it gets. Really disappointed. The service was okay, even after the server spilled a glass of wine on me. My meal was not very fresh or very tasty...

Nice little place with some unique dishes. Lunch will run you a little over $10.00 after a tip. Service was pretty prompt. I had a roast beef pita and it was a little Bla, but the wife had a grilled havarti and roma tomato sandwich which was yummy! Good place to eat both on the run and quietly enjoying the weather on the patio.

I've been here a few times already, and would give it a solid 4 stars. The decor is so eclectic and random, it's awesome! The lights hanging over the tables are made out of wine bottles, and the art on the wall is from local artists. The service is always OK. The menu is huge, and as eclectic as the decor! They have pastas, sandwiches, burgers, bakes potatoes, etc... this list of food sounds generic, but it's anything but generic! The first time I went I got cheese ravioli, half covered with marinara sauce, the other half covered with alfredo sauce. HOLY DELICIOUS FOOD, Batman! Yesterday I went for lunch with my (wonderful, beautiful) coworkers, I have the vege cream cheese sand which. It was great! Tons of fresh, local vegetables; it came with a side salad which was more than ice burg lettuce. I HATE it when a salad only comes with ice burg, this one had lots of different greens, tomatoes, thinly sliced mushrooms, and onions. I had it with the house dressing, a peppery Parmesan. My friend had one of the burgers, and it was HUGE. The meat patty looked hand made, and super juicy, she had it topped with pesto and feta. Yum. Will totally be back there, but will totally have to go running after wards, because they like to put a lot of cheese on their items :-)

I returned recently and wanted to update my review. First, the great things about Dizzy's. The space is gorgeous and decorated beautifully. We sat on the patio and it was heaven. I love the heavy purple drapes pulled back with red sashes and it's the perfect spot to get together after work for a drink and share an appetizer. Secondly, the service is impeccable. It's top notch. The problem is the food. I never thought that it would be possible to put too much cheese in something but Dizzy's has a heavy hand when it comes to the cheese. The food is way too rich, even for me, and I love rich food. We shared the cheese dip and it was okay. It wasn't what the AR Democrat-Gazette called 'possibly the best in town'. The chips were too thin to hold the thick heavy dip. It was a gigantic portion that could have easily fed six people so we had to take most of it home. My mom had the pesto soup and didn't like it at all. The additions to the soup, like chicken and artichoke hearts, surprised her (though I pointed out they were listed in the menu description). Then once again it had too much cheese. Parmesan this time. I had the Greek quiche. I'm used to light and fluffy eggs mixed with a little cheese and some veggies. But this quiche was dense and had too much cheese in the egg mixture and then on top. It was supposed to have feta but I didn't detect any. The veggies (black olives and artichoke hearts) were not mixed with the eggs they were placed on top of the baked quiche and about 2 cups of mozzarella was dumped on top with about 1 cup of Parmesan. The crust was divine but I could barely cut through the cheese to get to it. The small dinner salads were great. I ordered ranch but got the house dressing, peppery Parmesan. As I noted earlier, it was too watery but after all that rich cheesy food it was a welcome change. Wine was wonderful!

Atmosphere: B+ Eclectic atomosphere is very reminiscent of having a dinner party in a penthouse apartment in the Bohemian burrow of Manhattan... Semi-Industrial with a New Orleans pinache. Bold colors and depression era flavored glass accents everywhere mixed with silk pillows and 18th century French chandeliers. Stained concrete floors, blended with Bostonian dark wood mouldings and bar. The very purple drapes and curlycue monacre totally invite, nearly like the draw of a circus tent. I take off points for the lack of continuity in their service ware - everything about the place screams fun and eclectic until you sit down to your white everything, not even a composition flare to the style dinnerware, silverware, and glasses - blah. Service: C+ Had to average the service. of the 3 times I've been there on a variety of evenings in the week and weekend, I've had 3 kinds of service with two consistencies: Consistency #1 is that the host or hostess is always pre-occupied and awkward as I am being seated. Consistency #2 seems to be a distaste from the servers if you don't order alcohol. The other attributes of service were high contrast between experiences though the number of customers in the place appeared consistent. For example: my first time eating at Dizzy's, it was about 3 quarters full, the timing on drinks, appetizers, main meal... was in the middle - for the most part, I didn't find myself straining to get the attention of our server. The 2nd experience, it was like I had 4 or 5 different wait staff attending to my every need - water every 3 minutes, dishes cleared promptly and so smoothly I barely noticed their coming and passing, someone always nearby in case I needed extra sauce or a napkin, etc.. - I was truly impressed. The 3rd experience was for lack of a better descriptive: annoying. We had 3 people who thought we were their table but then seemingly decided we were no-ones table and we couldn't get their attention even when flagging them down. Food: B The food is... a twist. Dishes from Nachos, to Reubens, to non-traditional pastas. What they do, they do well in regard to preparation, freshness, uniqueness. A little under the bar as far as presentation, and pairing goes. Of what I have had, I recommend the Tuxedo. Which is a bowtie pasta smothered in Alfredo sauce and Marinara, black olives artichokes and grilled chicken (I recommend nixing the chicken as it makes the marinara take on an unfavorable acidic quality) The house dressing is the way to go if you get a salad - a spicy, garlic infused perfection. The tomato basil bisque - isn't really a bisque, though it is quite good, it could really use some bread. Bread is lacking overall . Appetizers were overpriced mediocrities though I considered it worth a shot. I enjoy artichokes and olives very much so I was glad to find them in 75% of their menu items. I enjoy chicken as well but I did not have the same appreciation at finding it too was in about 75% of the menu. I really found myself wishing I could find some fish or beef or lamb on the menu beyond the sandwiches - as many of their main dishes would be simply sparkling with a meat proffering other than chicken in them... sad face. Overall, I would say Dizzy's is like the Circus in how to best enjoy it: Go and see and be drawn in by what there is to see and enjoy the hyper atmosphere. It is a comfortable place for group dining in groups of flexible chicken eaters and vegetarians. Do not expect any traditional style foods outside the sandwich menu. It's a fun place to try out, though I'm not yet convinced I'll be a regular.

My wife and I dined here a couple of time over the last week, and we are planning on many more trips in the years to come. Our first time in the restaurant was by chance. We were looking for something a little different from the rest of the river market and thought we'd give Dizzy's a shot. I am so glad we did. Yes the place is eclectic and funky, but the stars of the establishment are the staff. KayKay came to us as were being seated and told us her name and that we would LOVE the place. We'd love it so much that we'd be back many times. After she left I gave my wife that, "heard that before" look. Our waitress was Amy, she let look over the menu and didn't try too hard to sell us on anything. She told us how big the servings were, and that they were great tasting. My wife and I decided on ordering half portions of two different types of pasta. I had the spinach tortalini and my wife the cheese ravioli. The house salads arrived first. I had the peppery parm and my wife the balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was your typical said salad, but was taken into new directions with the fresh croutons. I could have ate a plate of them without the salad. My dressing was wonderful. Peppery and salty from the Parmesan. My wife's dressing was light on oil and heavy on the balsamic. It was tart and sweet. The en trees arrived and were both glad we'd ordered the 1/2 portions. There was still more than enough. The pasta was cooked just right and the sauce was tremendous. Yes it was heavy, but it was after all a cream sauce. Amy told us to save room for wedding cake. My wife and I looked at each other and wondered if we were missing out on something. A restaurant that serves wedding cake. This got us to talking about out wedding and how good the cake was. We decided to try the wedding cake and see if it matched up to the one we remembered so well. The cake came and we both took a bite at the same time and we both had the same thought, "This is our wedding cake!" We took several more bites and concluded that whoever made this cake had to know the person who'd made our cake! We asked KayKay if the cakes were made in house or brought in and she wasn't sure. Amy came over and told us that the cake was brought in and they were from a small bakery in Bryant called Cakery Affairs. That was who had done our wedding cake! That was so awesome to us. Now we knew that anytime we wanted a piece of our wedding cake, all we would have to do is head over to Dizzy's! Darla (the owner) came over and talked with us for a while. She talked about how wonderful Cakery Affairs were to work with and how good the product was. We couldn't agree more. After paying our bill and arriving at home, I decided to see if I could find a website for Dizzy's and in my search found out that after 14 years of business in Benton, Darla decided to head north to LR. They celebrated their grand opening on Nov. 3rd, 2009. That happens to be my wife's and mine anniversary. What a serendipitous moment.

Thought we would have lunch here today. Big mistake! Got seated, water was brought to the table...after waiting well over half an hour my daughter went to the bar and asked if we had a waitress. Waitress from bar took our order...nothing fancy...burgers and a sandwich and Mac and Cheese and cheese dip and some bread. Cheese dip was delivered, then Mac and Cheese. Another 15 minutes or so and the waitress brings the rest of the food...except for the burgers and told us the waitress who took our order didn't know but they had run out of burgers! Had to ask for the bread that was ordered...my husband and I declined the offer to order something else...the rest of our party was almost through eating and we didn't really feel like waiting another half hour or more to have lunch. Got our check to leave and then saw another waitress delivering burgers to another table!!! WORST dining experience I've had and won't go back!

I had a few minutes to kill before a meeting so I popped into Dizzys for a quick beer. Yes a beer before a meeting. Self employed you can do that. Anyway, I will say this. From the outside, Dizzy's purple seems a bit much but once you enter, it is beautiful. I mean really nice and very relaxing. Since I didnt have time for food, I can only comment on the beer(s) and service. Some of the best service I have seen in a Little Rock bar/grill in my life. Friendly and fast. The beer(s) were ice cold. I will be back to try the food. It all looked wonderful as it passed me by but I had not time.

The atmosphere was the main reason my family and I chose Dizzys. It didn't disappoint, although the artwork of chimps with exposed breasts behind my head made it difficult for my mother to look at me while we ate. We ate a late lunch during the week, so the restaurant wasn't even close to busy. The menu had a GREAT selection and I can't wait to try many more of their items. Our lunch was delicious, having the egg salad sandwich and house salad. The portions were large enough for Mom and I to share. The wait staff was so-so. We're not sure if it is a put-on attitude of "Hey, I guess you're here so what do you want" or if the two waitresses we encountered are really just that unanimated. Regardless, they were efficient. Parking was nice and easy, as there is a public lot just across the street. Just be careful to park in the free area and not the private section.

I really don't get it. Every dish on the menu is excessive--in a very unappealing way. Too rich, to salty, to saucy to an extent that it renders the food inedible. The "pasta" was covered in a lump of cheese gravy so thick & overwhelming I couldn't eat it. I'm no health nut & am not afraid of grease/cheese but this was just... extraordinary.

This place is horrible. Myself and two friends ordered lunch and waited almost an hour to get our food. My friend's salad had what appeared to be an entire jar of capers dumped on it. My veggie burger was bland, undercooked and basically fell apart in my hands. The fries were mushy, too. This was my second time here. The first time was back in the winter and the salt wouldn't come out of the shaker because they'd "left it on the patio all night" and it was frozen. The food was just as bad then and that's back when they opened. If anyone ever mentions Dizzy's as a lunch option I always tell them to go somewhere else. Sub-par service, bad food, just an all around disappointment sitting in the spot of the very good Vermillion Water Grille.

Oh YUM. Went out to Dizzy's last night with the hubby & another couple. The whole ambiance is so nice, it literally looks like a gypsy designed it with different influences from different travels. Very colorful with beautiful chandeliers and just overall very neat design. We went for a later dinner, around 8:30 so we missed the dinner rush for a Friday night and sat down right away. We immediately were served water and I started off with a very nice glass of wine, hubby had a beer which came with an ice cold mug much to his delight, my friend Nicole was also having wine & her boyfriend had a specialty Halloween martini- cant remember the name something abt alligators & it had jager & apple pucker in it. They had a really fun Halloween themed menu with drinks and food, the food wasnt available yet they said it would be ready next week but his martini was really cool looking and came with halloween gummies in the bottom! We started off with the cheese dip- and word of warning it is HUGE. It literally came in a soup bowl. It was delicious though! I'm sure if you're a party of 2 they could do a half order, we were offered half orders on our entrees and they seemed very flexible for whatever your needs may be! The cheese dip had 3 different kinds of cheese, salsa, sour cream, & green onions & It was YUMMY! The 4 of us were in heaven with that cheese dip. Then the entrees came, I had the grilled turkey sandwich & OMG ya'll... this is the best sandwich I've ever had! It was SOOO good. Grilled turkey on rye bread with pesto, lettuce, tomato, & basil mayo. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! It was such a great combo, just perfect! I could only finish half the sandwich after all the wine & cheese dip and brought the other half home for lunch today, just ate it- it was JUST AS GOOD the next day! GO to dizzys, get you this sandwich ASAP it is a DELIGHT! Hubby had fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, he got the half order on the server's suggestion and he was very happy about that, he couldnt even finish the half order! But he really enjoyed his pasta. Nicole got the pesto soup and really enjoyed it and her boyfriend had this massive burger with feta cheese that he just destroyed. All in all we were full & happy campers, the service was fantastic & we will return to Dizzy's ASAP!

Some of the best food in town and probably the most eclectic menus you'll find. You can eat relatively healthy with about 2 things on the menu, the rest is pure "guilty pleasure" as they put on their menu. No kidding. But, so good. Get the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. I'm not sure where the spinach is, it's mostly sour cream, mixed with awesomeness. The potato soup is great, but you can also get an egg salad sandwich. Weird. But all great. Give it a try - but it's gaining a big following, so call ahead on the weekends. It's an open concept, so plenty of space for parties. They'll even do buffet style for a large group.

Not a bad place, decent outdoor seating as well as inside seating. Very friendly staff but the food is not as Southern or Cajun as it could be. Dizzying array of foods on the menu, no one can be that good at that many types of food. A little pricey for what you get in terms of decor or quality of food,

I went to Dizzy's on the recommendation (and in the company) of my mom. I wanted soup and I was pleased to see that their menu boasts an extensive selection of "hand-crafted" soups. (I use quotes because that is how they state it on the menu, not because I found the quality to be otherwise). I ordered the creamy tomato soup. It came with a side salad with which I chose to have the truffle dressing. All of the food was very good. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the portions are extremely large. I would have been just fine with a cup of soup and the salad. As for the service, we had an very good experience with our server. We had chosen a table in the front by the windows and it was very cold. When we requested another table, our server graciously seated us in the other dining room which was much warmer. He was also very personable and helpful. I look forward to going back again and trying some of the other items on the menu. It all looks delicious!

We do not live in Little Rock but stumbled upon the Gypsy while walking back to our hotel. Great patio and atmosphere. Friendly server helped us with our wine choice and a dessert. We told the server how much we loved the place and a bit later she brought a comp dessert. The owner came out and chatted with us for awhile about other things to do in Little Rock and thanked us for our business. The wine and food were great and I was amazed how much personal attention we had. Loved this place cant wait to go back and check out more of what they have to offer.

I love everything about this restaurant. The decor is relaxing and beautiful, the salads are so good, I love the blue cheese dressing and the croutons are the most delicious and taste homemade. The Electra casserole is addicting, very rich but worth every bite, I usually get the full portion and bring it home just to savor the next day. The thing I keep dreaming about is the Wedding Cake dessert, what a great idea and it's too delicious, the buttercream icing is vanilla nd almond flavored, just couldn't be more perfect. The only thing I don't like is they moved away from Benton and we have to drive further but it's well worth it.

  • Crystal W.

The wedding cake was awesome! Chicken noodle soup was great, the grilled chicken was superb and I'm a chicken snob! The queso and spinach artichoke dip were both great. Nice surprise

Ermahgerd!

Food is good. Service is mediocre. Food does seen a little over priced. Convenient if you are staying at one if the hotels downtown.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is great. The seats are comfy. And everything I've eaten is delicious. Black truffle vinaigrette is off the hook. Sandwiches are huge. My pasta tonight was so big I am taking half home for later. I keep coming back for more :)

Food is okay. Service was way disorganized, we had like 6 servers/busboys. Atmosphere was eerie and dark. Not for the God fearing crowd.

Service was excellent. We came here b/c of the cheese dip and it did not disappoint. The Librarian Angel Hair Pasta was AMAZING. My coworker had the stroganoff with rice and absolutely enjoyed it. Oh I am stuffed!!!

  • El T.

What a joke! The claim to make everything "fresh" to order. Ina actuality the fries are frozen and Kraft Parmesan are as fresh as it gets. Really disappointed. The service was okay, even after the server spilled a glass of wine on me. My meal was not very fresh or very tasty...

This place has a lot to choose from and is the only real place in downtown LR to have lunch. The service is great! The food not so much but you get a lot for your money.

The best cheese dip around. Beautiful, eclectic decor. Fast, friendly staff. Definitely in my top ten faves

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is great. The seats are comfy. And everything I've eaten is delicious. Black truffle vinaigrette is off the hook. Sandwiches are huge. My pasta tonight was so big I am taking half home for later. I keep coming back for more :)
